So I have decided that while I am not particularly fond of ridiculous risks in general, I am quite enthusiastic about them when it comes to tea! I’m trying a new blend tonight, which has the potential to be completely disgusting, or really awesome.
Tonight’s blend:
Rose Hips (fruity flavor)
Marshmallow (that’s “mallow”, not “mellow”. ;) It is a root and has a woody flavor.)
Cinnamon (I hope we all know what this one tastes like!)
Why I would even think of combining “fruity”, “woody” and “warm spice” is beyond me. But let’s give it a go…
The Verdict:
Even though I only used 1/4 of a teaspoon of cinnamon, compared to 1/2 a teaspoon of each of the others, the cinnamon overpowers everything else completely. It’s basically cinnamon tea. Quite tasty, but it doesn’t taste like a blend. Next time I believe I will try making the tea with rose hips and marshmallow as usual, then sprinkling a little cinnamon on the surface of the water and stirring it in, instead of adding a measured amount to the mix like I would with another herb. Most of the cinnamon seems to sink and sit on the bottom of the mug anyway. Anyhow, that’s tonight’s tea!
